Bryan Dunlap

  • Director, Le Moyne College Pep Band Music

Bryan Dunlap is a life-long Central New Yorker who has been a music educator for 25 years. Originally from Baldwinsville, he received his Bachelor鈥檚 Degree from Ithaca College where he served as the Director and Administrator for the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia/Ithaca College Pep Band.

Bryan has served as a band director at all levels of public school instruction, including jazz and competitive marching band. He currently serves as a middle school band director in the East Syracuse Minoa Central School District where he directs the 120-student sixth grade band, the Pine Grove Middle School Jazz Ensemble, and also conducts the pit orchestra for Spartan Stage at ESM Central High School. Many of Bryan鈥檚 students have gone on to participate in NYSSMA Conference All-State, receive local and national citations, and also pursue careers as music educators and performers.

As a performer, Bryan has studied saxophone for nearly forty years and has had the pleasure of performing both as a soloist and alongside many local and national jazz and rock artists. An accomplished woodwind doubler, he enjoys the challenge of 鈥渏uggling instruments鈥 and has performed in over one hundred scholastic and professional/regional theater productions.

Bryan resides in Syracuse with his wife and four children. He enjoys cooking and the outdoors, and can rarely be found without a cup of coffee within arm鈥檚 reach.
